> Since 1983 Anne Blanchard, founder and artistic director of the Beaune International Baroque Music Festival, has developed: a pioneering artistic policy by rediscovering Baroque opera on period instruments focused on high quality productions, the reconstruction and interpretation of unpublished works according to the latest musicological research; a conductor policy inviting most renowned conductors as well as the young generation; a policy to identify new vocal talents by organizing auditions in France and Europe; a production and coproduction policy by setting up a European broadcast network with other festivals and opera houses, a recording policy of its events with over 20 albums coproduced with famous record companies. The Beaune International Baroque Music Festival is regarded within the European lyric festival movement as the reference Baroque Festival (“the Salzburg of Baroque music” according to Diapason magazine). It has taken part in the “Baroque movement revolution” by broadcasting Baroque music to a new audience in France and Europe.
> Since its inception the Festival has presented over 100 baroque operas (mis en espace and concert version), over 30 of them revivals and world, European or French premieres; over 80 oratorio and sacred music concerts, including 5 revivals or premieres; over 40 recitals, over 20 symphonic concerts and an Academy of Vocal Baroque.
